Background and Aim: Bonding to wet dentin is faced with some difficulties. The purpose of the present study was to compare the microtensile bond strength to wet dentin in two systems of fifth generation dentin bonding under three different methods.

Materials & Methods: In this invtro study, 18 human third molars were provided and dentin surfaces using carbide silicone paper were prepared and the teeth were randomly assigned to six groups. The teeth surfaces were etched by phosphoric acid and washed. Two systems of fifth generation dentin bonding one step (acetone – based) and opti Band solo plus (ethanole based) were used with three wet conditions of Blot dry and rewet for 15 s with distilled water and dentin bonding using before and after drying etched dentin with air drying. The teeth were filled by resin composite. The teeth will be cut in x and y axis and microtensile bond strength of cut samples were recorded and analyzed by one-way ANOVA, Tukey and student t tests.

Results: Microtensile bond strength of specimens using One Step adhesive was 17.59, 20.42 and 27.22 using blot dry, rewetting and adhesive application before and after drying respectively. The values for Opti Bond Solo Plus were 18.74, 18.63 and 16.67 using the wet bonding techniques respectively. Microtensile bond strength of One Step specimens was significantly higher than Opti Bond Solo Plus specimens.

Conclusion: Different bonding techniques did not significantly influence the bond strength. However, the type of bonding was effective.
